Description
Prevents a flame from flying past the flame barrier in the event of a flame kickback.
Never connect a burner to acetylene and oxygen bottles (cylinders) without installing a set of flame check devices on the burner/hose/regulator. Without these safety devices, it is possible that a flash occurs in the hose and finally flows back into the tanks, causing an explosion.
This would be an extremely rare event, but flame kickbacks make it a “never” occurrence. Check valves are only a first line of defense and ultimately cannot stop a recoil. Only the recoil deflectors.
